Presented by Christine Roberts, founder of Robers & more, a local Public Relations firm
Bridges just are not supposed to collapse in America. Planes are not supposed to fly into buildings. Hurricanes, tornados, floods, fires and other catastrophic events usually happen someplace else, not here. We now all know that Minnesota is just as vulnerable as anyplace else. The recent events of the 35W bridge collapse and the flooding in Southern Minnesota proved our vulnerability. Disaster can also strike in the form of scandel or leadership issues. These too can be devestating for organizations.
What do we do when it happens here? As HR professionals, we may be impacted directly if our business or many employees are impacted by such events. More likely, we'll be impacted indirectly and our business will be inconvenienced or a few employee may be impacted. Either way, our response can make a huge difference for our employees.
Our October 24 HR Executive Forum session will focus on best practices in responding to crisis. We'll learn about things none of us were taught in our Human Resource educational programs. Our speakers all have significant experience in crisis management and will provide first-hand knowledge and advice on what HR and Communications can do to when the unthinkable happens:
