"Can your Managerial and Executive Talent execute their business"
November 17, 2008

Presented by Franco Vicino, from Vici Associates International and a professor at Dominican University in San Francisco.

Franco Vicino, President of Vici Associates and a Professor at Dominican University in San Francisco, will present insights on how an organization can adapt its leadership team to meet the challenges of the market it faces. This is especially relevant today given the economic turmoil we are experiencing. Dr. Vicino's presentation is based on leading-edge research done by him on how to match a leadership team's skill profile with the maturity cycle of the organization.

Over the past half century, we can see that organizations from different industries, competing in the same maturity cycle, will face substantially similar financial challenges. Over the same period however, organizations have struggled to find the profile of the successful leader that performs well using the maturity cycle as a variable.

Mr. Vicino's research demonstrates several variables that influence a leadership team's success:

  • Right Focus - the Strategic Skill Profile of a team is determined by a clear Mission statement, where the organization provides clarity about "Who it wants to be in which Market."
  • Right People - the ensuing Business Strategy to be employed to achieve the Mission finds its counterpart in the Executive Capital Strategy.
  • Right Motivation - to ensure the delivery of the expected results, the organization needs to connect the Business and Talent Strategy with its Performance Management System.
