Presented by John Stout
This interactive session focuses on the role that HR plays relative to corporate Boards of Directors, including those areas where HR can and should make a more significant impact.
John Stout, an officer with Fredrikson and Byron, leads their Corporate Governance practice and serves as Minnesota Chapter President of the National Association of Corporate Directors and is part of NACD's Blue Robbin Commission of Board Leadership and Director Professionalism.
John, a frequent speaker and authoritative author on subjects of corporate governance, will lead an interactive discussion about his views on HR and corporate governance, and our experience as HR professionals in working with boards. He will talk about why governance and HR are so tightly linked, trends in governance that point toward greater HR impact in the boardroom, and tools boards can utilize to provide better governance. He will also talk about why progressive boards are asking senior, outside HR executives to join their boards. Finally, he will touch on executive compensation as a means to drive fairness and trust in the organization.
